Thanks for your interest in being a chef at the Cookoff!

The full set of chefs' requirements and competition details are posted on the Rules page. Please review and let Cathy know if you have any questions.

Chefs are not required to buy a ticket/make a donation, since you're volunteering to bring dogs and cater the event! If you have a team competing, one person (the captain) is the chef, and the others need to buy tickets (We're trying to control the size of the crowd). You are also not required to reveal what you're making prior to the event, but if you want, you can let me know and I can let you know if someone else is already making something like that.  It might be helpful, might not.

 

There are three categories for the competition from which you must choose one to enter your creation in: CHILI DOG, VEGGIE DOG and NEITHER OF THE ABOVE DOG

In the past we allowed for sausages and chorizo. But this year it's just hot dogs and veggie dogs. Veggie dogs must be vegetarian dogs topped with veggie-friendly toppings, any buns can be used for all three categories.

 

This competition is mostly about taste...

somewhat about presentation, but also about showmanship. So don't be afraid to go all out. And we'll be posting chef 'bios' on the homepage. So go crazy and make up something, get creative, psyche out the competition. Also feel free to use the blog to talk up your team or creation, trash talk, whatever!
